8/6/2023 0 Comments Sam trick r treat movie images![]() It's a 2007 horror anthology written and directed by Michael Dougherty that features an excellent cast (including Brian Cox, Anna Paquin, Leslie Bibb, and Dylan Baker) and an incomparable atmosphere. If you're not familiar with Trick 'r Treat, you need to check it out. The only Pop! Vinyl figure I owned prior to this review was Batgirl (since I collect everything Batgirl related that I can get my hands on), but when I saw that Sam from Trick 'r Treat was available, I just had to have him. Check out a selection of images below, and the full gallery after that. When you look at how many characters from a huge number of diverse properties that Funko has released in their POP! line, it's really quite impressive! To think that there are collectors who can have a display of hundreds of characters from multiple properties in one similar style is rather impressive, even to a more traditional action figure collector like myself. If you collect either format (or both), then Sam is an absolute must buy. They are both really solid releases in their respective formats. Since these have been out, I tried to keep things short and to the point. Sam’s release feels a lot like the Chucky retro line releases, as the scale and nature of the figure just work incredibly well with cloth outfits. This figure includes a burlap bag, and a bitten lollipop. The head does look a bit big, but it isn’t too distracting when the figure looks this close to a film accurate version. Like the smaller version, he has a hinged jaw. The fabric burlap sack on his head is awesome looking, and it’s removable to reveal the pumpkin faced monster underneath. The heavy wool feeling outfit looks fantastic, and doesn’t restrict movement at all. Since Sam is a small character, who wears loose fitting pajamas, the clothed figure line is a natural fit. However, this is still a top notch release in the format. The 8″ Clothed Sam figure isn’t quite as all-encompassing as his smaller counterpart. ![]() The Ultimate Sam is a really great Ultimate release that provides plenty of ways to display the figure. The unmasked portrait even has a hinged jaw. The accessories include a bitten lollipop, a candy bar razor blade, a severed hand, a burlap carrying bag, two pumpkins one of which lights up), and multiple interchangeable heads. Even with the small feet, the figure stands perfectly fine. Parts swap out with no trouble, and joints feel great. ![]() Articulation is very good for a smaller sized NECA figure (about 5″ tall). The sculpt on Sam himself is excellent, with a nice variety of texture work that makes the different areas look and feel unique. This turned out to be a fantastic release, with a set of accessories that really make this feel worthy of the Ultimate line. Removable sack to reveal the head sculpt is a nice touch. The fabric outfit s a perfect fit for this figure.Articulation is solid for a smaller figure.Related Entertainment Earth Links: Sam Ultimate Figure, Sam Retro Figure, All NECA Horror Figures After the jump, check out my thoughts and all of the hi-res photos in the gallery. The figures come courtesy of Toyark sponsor Entertainment Earth. Sam is known for his small stature, his orange pajamas, and the burlap sack he wears on his head. While the film was immediately a fan favorite with horror fans, its growing status as a modern cult classic seems to draw in new fans as the years go by. If you break the rules of Halloween, then you’ll pay the price. Sam is featured in the film as the character that ties each of the stories together. For those unfamiliar with the film, Trick ‘r Treat is an anthology horror film by writer and director Michael Dougherty, who is directed Godzilla: King of the Monsters. In this update, I’m taking a look at the excellent Retro 8″ Scale and Ultimate 7″ Scale versions of Sam from Trick ‘r Treat. Today I have another catch up photo gallery for a pair of figures that were released in the last quarter of 2019.
